Privacy Statement

1. Information I Collect

1.1 Analytics Data (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager)

This website uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its content and performance. The data collected may include:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Browser type, device type and screen size
• Approximate geographic location (city or region level)
• Referring website
• Interaction events such as opening the search, submitting the contact form, sharing a post, clicking a link in the menu, or opening the AI assistant. These events record the type of interaction only, never the text you typed.

This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you directly. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser. You may learn more about Google's practices here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

1.2 Contact Form Information

If you use the contact form, I collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Message content
• Technical details used to prevent abuse: a hashed (one-way) version of your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and your approximate country
• If reCAPTCHA is enabled, a spam score returned by Google reCAPTCHA (see section 4)

This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and to filter spam. Messages are stored in the site's own database and deleted automatically after 12 months. I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

1.3 AI Assistant Conversations

The site includes an AI assistant that answers questions about my work using only the published content of this website. When you ask a question, I collect:

• The text of your question and the generated answer
• Which pages of this site were used as sources
• Technical details: a hashed version of your IP address (used for rate limiting), response time and token usage

Your question is sent to a third-party AI vendor to generate the answer (see section 4). Please do not include personal, confidential or sensitive information in your questions. Conversations are stored so I can review the quality of answers and control costs. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not linked to your name or email.

1.4 Search

Search queries you type into the search box or the command palette are processed on the server to return results and are not stored as text. Only an anonymous analytics event with the length of the query and the number of results may be recorded (section 1.1).

1.5 Server Logs

Like most websites, the server records basic technical logs (requested address, time, status code) to keep the site running and secure. Addresses that do not exist are recorded so I can fix broken links. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not combined with other data to identify you.

2. How Your Information Is Used

I use collected information for:

• Improving the website's content, performance and user experience
• Responding to messages submitted through the contact form
• Answering your questions through the AI assistant and improving the quality of its answers
• Preventing spam and abuse (rate limits, honeypot fields, reCAPTCHA scoring where enabled)
• Basic usage analytics and trend analysis

No automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects is performed. The AI assistant generates answers to your questions; it does not make decisions about you.

3. Cookies

The public website itself does not set cookies for tracking. Google Analytics, when enabled, sets its own cookies as described in section 1.1. A session cookie is used only for the private administration area, which is not accessible to visitors.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site remains usable without them.

4. Third-Party Services

The following providers process data on my behalf to run this website. Each is bound by its own privacy policy:

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics: usage analytics (section 1.1).
• Google reCAPTCHA v3 (only when enabled): spam scoring on the contact form. It may collect device and interaction data to calculate a score. Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Third-party AI vendors: generating AI assistant answers and creating search indexes of the published pages. Your question text is transmitted to them for processing.
• Resend, or an SMTP email provider: delivering contact form notifications to my inbox.
• The hosting provider of the server that runs this website and its database.

I do not sell your personal data. I do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed above unless required by law.

5. Data Protection and Retention

I take reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed IP addresses instead of raw ones, rate limiting, and an administration area protected by a password and a one-time code. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

• Contact form messages: deleted after 12 months
• AI assistant conversations: kept for quality review and cost control, and deleted when no longer needed
• Analytics data: retained according to the Google Analytics retention setting
• Server logs of missing pages: deleted after about 60 days

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data I store about you
• Request correction or deletion, including deletion of a contact form message or an AI assistant conversation you sent
• Withdraw consent (for contact form submissions)
• Object to analytics by disabling cookies or using a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics

To make a request, contact me through the contact form or by email at [email protected]. Because AI assistant conversations are not linked to your identity, please include the approximate time and wording of the conversation so I can locate it.

7. Children

This website is not directed at children under 16 and I do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, contact me and I will delete it.

8. Updates to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be announced on this page.
